What the New L1 docs say today
Our first research note. We read the official New L1 documentation end to end. Here is what is confirmed, what is still in development, what is a target, and our take.
This is an independent Twin Radar research note, not an official BNB Chain announcement.
What changed
BNB Chain published detailed documentation for New L1, covering its overview, core concepts, developer guides, governance and network information.
Why it matters
It is the first detailed, official description of how New L1 works, so it is the baseline we use to check every claim on Twin Radar.
Confirmed by official docs
Confirmed by official docsNew L1 runs as a multi-validator devnet with real block production and finality. Public testnet and mainnet have not launched.
Confirmed by official docsBNB stays the gas and staking asset, and no new token is issued.
Confirmed by official docsPre-confirmation is a revocable, best-effort signal. It is not finality.
Under development
Under developmentThe bridge from BNB Smart Chain is still being built. The shielded pool is unaudited and not ready for real funds.
Future targets
Future targetAbout 200 ms blocks, roughly 20 ms pre-confirmations and sub-second finality. These are design targets, not public-network measurements.
Our analysis
Our analysis (unofficial)The documentation is detailed and developer-focused, which suggests serious progress, but it is still a devnet, so expect changes. For regular users there is nothing to do yet, and anything offering "New L1 access" today should be treated as a red flag.
